I've lived in the Tampa Bay area for 7 years. I've been told by many sources that this restaurant was excellent. The food was standard issue tex mex and drinks were weak Yet, for some reason when the bill arrived we were charged for "top shelf margaritas"...maybe you'll taste something other than Montezuma tequila. My dining experience was thoroughly spoiled when I found a BLONDE HAIR in my food. I didn't just find it in my food....it was in my mouth...wrapped around my bite of taco. I asked for the manager, but supposedly on a Saturday night...there were no managers on duty. I would rate my waitress's service as poor. My waitress waited 20 minutes to check on us after the food was delivered. To my dismay, I didn't realize that the kitchen staff wasn't required to wear hair nets, especially for food handlers with long hair. To add insult to injury, if you're in to mediocre tex mex cuisine.....bon apetite. Buenas suerte and I pray you don't find hair in your food and "no managers on duty" to explain themselves while you consume their dishes with human hair added to taste. - melissa , posted 03/01/08 |

The food is average-above average, but I like the atmosphere alot. Davis Island has a neat little village vibe, plus, after eating you can go grab a Pabst Blue Ribbon over at Yeomans Pub. Its also dog friendly..and I used to like taking the pooch to the Yatch Club to swim in the "bilge"..... Estellas on S Dale Mabry has become YUCKY though. Vallartas on 56th St>Estellas on Davis Is.>Al Gusto.....imho -  MO

Estella's is good but only when compared to other TB Mexican restuarants. I haven't found better but am still questing too. - delete , posted 03/12/05 |
